geography

The community is located on the edge of the Oderbruch , about 16 km northwest of Frankfurt (Oder) . The geographical center of the Free State of Prussia was in the Lindendorf district of Dolgelin .

Community structure

The community consists of the districts Dolgelin , Libbenichen , Neu Mahlisch and Sachsendorf . Dolgelin, Friedenstal, Sachsendorf and Werder are identified as inhabited parts of the municipality. In addition, there are the Sachsendorfer Loose and Wilhelmshöhe residential areas .

history

Dolgelin, Libbenichen, Neu Mahlisch and Sachsendorf belonged to the Lebus district since 1817 and to the Seelow district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 . Since 1993 the places have been in the Brandenburg district of Märkisch-Oderland.

The community was created on October 26, 2003 from the voluntary merger of the previously independent communities Dolgelin, Libbenichen, Neu Mahlisch and Sachsendorf.

In the mayoral election on May 26, 2019, Franz was elected unopposed candidate with 86.2% of the valid votes for a term of five years.

Attractions

Libbenichen village church

The list of monuments in Lindendorf includes the monuments entered in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg.

  • The Libbenichen village church was built in 1736 on the remains of a previous medieval building . During repair work after the Second World War, craftsmen uncovered the remains of a medieval painting. The pulpit is from the first half of the 19th century.
  • The Dolgelin church ruins were built around 1300 and destroyed in World War II. A support association has been taking care of the reconstruction since 2002.

traffic

The federal highway 167 runs through the municipality from Bad Freienwalde to Frankfurt (Oder) .

Lindendorf is on the Eberswalde – Frankfurt (Oder) railway line , but the Dolgelin and Libbenichen stops were closed in 1994.
