history
Gusow and Platkow belonged to the Lebus district since 1817 and from 1952 to the Seelow district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) . Since 1993 the places have been in the Brandenburg district of Märkisch-Oderland.
The community Gusow-Platkow was created on December 31, 1997 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent communities Gusow and Platkow.
Platkow is one of the oldest villages in the Märkisch-Oderland district and was first mentioned in a document in 1229. The manors of Gusow and Platkow were acquired in 1448 by the Brandenburg noble family von Schapelow and in 1649 passed into the possession of the Brandenburg General Field Marshal Georg von Derfflinger . In 1745 the goods went to the Podewils rule, in the 19th century to a branch of the Counts of Schönburg-Glauchau. In the course of the land reform, their property was expropriated.
On the river, about 3 km southwest of the village, there was a water mill, the "Vogelsangmühle", since the 14th century. It was destroyed in 1945. Remains of the walls can still be discovered in the bushes.
