history

Alt Zeschdorf, Döbberin and Petershagen belonged to the Lebus district in the province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Seelow district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 . Since 1993 the places have been in the Brandenburg district of Märkisch-Oderland.

Zeschdorf emerged on December 31, 1997 from the voluntary amalgamation of the previously independent communities Alt Zeschdorf, Döbberin and Petershagen.

Attractions

In the list of monuments in Zeschdorf are the monuments entered in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg.

  • The village church Döbberin is a Romanized brick building, which was probably built in the 16th or 17th century. In 1779 the west tower was added; In 1905 the building was renovated. Inside there is an organ by Wilhelm Sauer from 1875.
  • The Hohenjesar village church is a hall church that was built between 1721 and 1723 under the church patronage of the von Burgsdorff family on the foundation of a previous medieval building. The structure was badly damaged in the Second World War and fell into disrepair in the decades that followed. While that could church tower in 1965 repaired the roof but was removed in 2007 and replaced by a temporary roof. Since the beginning of the 21st century, a local history association has been trying to restore it.
