Building description

View from the northeast

The choir is rectangular and strongly drawn in. It was built from reddish brick and was probably plastered flat at an earlier time . In 2017, considerable damage to the surface of the structure was visible in some cases. The east wall of the choir is closed, while the north and south walls each have a simple, rectangular window. Above it is a simple saddle roof , the gable of which is decorated with a small pinnacle .

The nave is rectangular and simple. The base was made from brick, the wall from unevenly layered and uncut field stones in the middle area and reddish bricks in the upper and lower area. Here, too, the remains of a previously existing plaster can be seen. On the south side there are three arched windows, the reveal of which is emphasized with masonry bricks and plaster residues. On the north side, the plaster is still present in the lower area. Above it are two similar windows on a church wall, which was also built or repaired from brick and field stones. Considerable, rough plastering work can be seen in the eastern area in particular.

The church tower connects to the building to the west. It is in comparatively good condition and was built entirely from reddish brick. Access is via a large, arched gate. On the lower floor there are arched windows on the north and south sides and three significantly smaller, rectangular windows above a cornice . They are complemented by two windows of the same type on the west side. There is a triangular frieze at the transition to the roof . The middle floor is structured with a circular window on the north and south side as well as two coupled arched windows with a circular window arranged above on the west side. Above another cornice on the upper floor of the tower there is a sound arcade on each side, the corners of which are emphasized with pilaster strips . This is followed by the octagonal helmet , in whose gable corners a tower clock is built. The roof, which is covered with slate, ends with a tower ball and a cross.

Furnishing

The furnishings come - if still available - from the time the church was built. The organ of Wilhelm Sauer is the Opus 235. Sauer chose a simple brochure from pine wood , which is divided into four fields. In 1917, the parish had the organ pipes made of tin post; they were replaced by zinc pipes in 1920 . The instrument was damaged in World War II and made playable in the 1950s. In 2014, the original condition was restored.
