church

The von Burgsdorff family , resident since 1537, had the stately Hohenjesar village church built as a baroque brick building from 1721 to 1723. The two bells in the tower were medieval, one from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries was delivered in 1942, but has been preserved. In 1945 the tower and ship were damaged by shell fire. After the end of the war, the mayor prevented a restoration by having donated building materials used for other purposes. The castle was destroyed.
