Petershagen is a place in the district of Märkisch-Oderland in Brandenburg and has belonged to the municipality of Zeschdorf since December 31, 1997 .

The place Petershagen lies on the edge of a glacial valley running from north to south . Framed in a wooded landscape and surrounded by several lakes, the town is bordered by the Trepliner lakes in the east, the Falkenhagen lakes in the northwest and the Madlitz lakes in the south.

history

Petershagen was founded around the 13th century. In 1405 Petershagen was first mentioned in a document as Petrisshain . The place arose on the old trade route from Frankfurt (Oder) to Berlin.

Culture and sights

In the list of monuments in Zeschdorf are the monuments entered in the list of monuments of the state of Brandenburg. Petershagen is represented on this list with two objects, the village church and a quarter milestone.

The church was built from granite blocks around the end of the 13th century ; the nave and the choir are now plastered inside. The bells in the church date from the 15th century. In 1721 the richly decorated, carved baroque altar structures and the pulpit were built . The church has an organ made by Sauer .

Outside the village there is a German military cemetery in the forest. About 100 soldiers found their final resting place here.
