history
With the advance of the Ascanian margraves , the trade routes were relocated to a southern line. This route ran via Müncheberg - Frankfurt (Oder) - Posen . A number of new settlements were founded along this line. The Ascanians recruited settlers with the help of locators . The first settlements from around 1250 mostly had a size of 64 Hufen , four of which belonged to the church, also in Treplin, and were mostly given the name of the locator or the first liege lord . In this way, some villages emerged around Treplin, such as the nearby Pillgram or Biegen . Place names that sound Slavic do not always allow conclusions to be drawn about previous settlement, as the German settlers sometimes adopted these names, especially when founding places close to waters, such as Niederjesar or Hohenjesar .
The first written mention of Treplin goes back to April 18, 1341, when the brothers gherardo & hinrico trepelin presbyteris found themselves in an appellation . The name changed its spelling little in the following years: Treppelyn (1460), Trippelin, Treppelin (1624).
In 1755 one began to mine the first coal in the Mark Brandenburg between Treplin and Petershagen . It was brown coal that was mined in open-cast mining . This coal mining ended in 1960 when the "Sophie" mine was closed.
Treplin belonged to the Lebus district in the province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Seelow district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 . The municipality has been in the Brandenburg district of Märkisch-Oderland since 1993.

The 19th century church was badly damaged during World War II and the removal of building materials in the post-war period, so that it was in ruins until 2002. The church tower could be repaired in the post-war years. In 2003 the tower and church roof were renewed and the interior is planned. The "Christmas market in the church" on the 1st Sunday of Advent is known in the region.
