The transmitter Boossen is a basic network transmitter of the Deutsche Funkturm GmbH for the transmission of radio and television signals. Despite the name, it is not located in the district of Boossen in the city of Frankfurt (Oder) , but to the west of it in the municipality of Treplin .
The transmitter was built in 1994 to cover the area near the Oder , which is not served by Berlin. He uses a 163-meter-high guyed steel truss mast as an antenna carrier.
There used to be a short-wave transmitter near the plant.

Digital radio ( DAB )
DAB + is broadcast in vertical polarization and in single-frequency mode with other transmitters. The nationwide DAB + multiplex has been broadcasting since October 26, 2016 and the rbb has been broadcasting its programs via DAB + since November 21, 2017 from the station Boossen.
Digital television (DVB-T2)
Regular operation of DVB-T2 HD began on March 29, 2017. Since then, the programs of ARD ( rbb -Mux) and ZDF have been broadcasting in the DVB-T2 standard using the HEVC video coding process and in Full HD resolution. The DVB-T2 HD -Ausstrahlungen from Frankfurt / Oder (Booßen) are simulcast (Single Frequency Network) with other transmitter sites.
