The Ebbegebirge telecommunications tower (formerly also known as Sender Lüdenscheid) is a transmitter on the Waldberg (about 635  m above sea  level ) in the municipality of Herscheid near Lüdenscheid . It belongs to the German radio tower (DFMG), a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom . It was built in 1983 and is 150 m high.

The reinforced concrete tower (also known as a type tower ) serves as a directional radio station and cell phone location. The broadcast of the ZDF and WDR television programs ended on November 12, 2007.

Instead, DVB-T broadcasting began a day later at the WDR broadcast tower Nordhelle , only about two kilometers away .

There is also a relay station for the amateur radio service (DB0VR, 145.675 MHz FM, CTCSS 67.0 Hz) on this tower. With their help, VHF amateur radio connections are possible over a distance of several 100 km. There is also a DMR relay station (DB0VR, 439.8875 MHz DMR)

Since April 28, 2016, DAB + has also been broadcast from here in vertical polarization and in single-frequency mode with other transmitters.
