The transmitter Oschatz is a basic network transmitter of the Deutsche Funkturm GmbH for the transmission of radio signals. It is located on the Collmberg six kilometers west of Oschatz . A 90 meter high reinforced concrete tower, which was built in 1960, was originally used as the antenna support . This was replaced in 2004 by a new, 100 meter high, thinner concrete tower, whereupon the old tower was demolished in 2005.
The transmitter supplies the northern parts of Saxony, which can no longer be reached by the Wiederau transmitter near Leipzig.
