The Brandenkopf transmitter is a 114 m high transmission tower of the German radio tower made of reinforced concrete, which has been on the Brandenkopf since 1976 . It replaces a transmission tower that was designed as a free-standing steel framework construction in the 1950s and transmits, among other things, television and radio programs. On July 10, 2007, the conversion from analog television transmission to DVB-T took place .

Digital television ( DVB-T )

The DVB-T broadcasts from the transmitter Brandenkopf ran on 10 July 2007 to November 8, 2017 simulcast (Single Frequency Network) with other transmitter sites. As part of the switch to DVB-T2 HD, broadcasting was switched off without replacement, as ARD / ZDF were not prepared to maintain broadcasting operations without co-financing from the private sector.
