The Bamberg transmitter is a broadcasting system of the Bavarian Radio on the Geisberg northeast of Geisfeld , a district of Strullendorf in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg .

Transmitter

The antenna support of the transmission system consists of a reinforced concrete construction and approximately 107 m high television tower on the top of the Geisberg ( 585  m above sea  level ), which is not open to the public.

Since then, TV coverage has been provided by the Bamberg (Kälberberg) transmitter located 4 km south on the Wachknock , which served as the basic analog network transmitter for ZDF and Bavarian TV until November 25, 2008 .
