B5 plus - until October 2007 B5 + - is a 24-hour DAB + program of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation as a digital edition of the news channel B5 aktuell .

program

The program of B5 plus is identical to that of B5 aktuell. The program changes only for selected live broadcasts of parliamentary debates from the Bundestag and the Bavarian State Parliament. Selected sporting events such as important football matches in the Champions League are also broadcast there in full length if these are not currently broadcast or only in excerpts in the B5 program.

background

Since the youth wave of the BR ( Bavarian Open Radio ) was switched to its medium wave frequencies in October 2007, there have been no live broadcasts of sporting events and parliamentary debates that previously interrupted the broadcast of Bayern 1 on these frequencies. However, in order to continue broadcasting these - even with the acceptance of a reduced range - the B5 plus program was launched.

reception

B5 Plus can only be received digitally. B5 Plus can be received via DAB + in the Bavaria-wide DAB + network of Bayerischer Rundfunk . The DAB + bouquet of Bayerischer Rundfunk is operated across Bavaria in the single- frequency network (Band III, Block 11D). B5 plus can also be received via satellite on Astra 19.2 in standard DVB-S (ASTRA 1M, transponder 93, downlink frequency 12.266 GHz, horizontal polarization, symbol rate 27.500 MS / s, B5 plus PID 181 mono). Reception via internet stream is also possible. The station was also represented on Astra Digital Radio .
