on3-radio was a digital and internet radio program of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation . The program emerged from the former youth programs Das Modul and Bavarian Open Radio .

The program was aimed at young listeners and should also combine multimedia offers such as podcasts , photos and texts with the radio program via its own website under the umbrella name on3 . The music selection was broad and deliberately differentiated from the mainstream music selection of commercial programs; 20 percent of the titles in the medium rotation should come from local bands.

history

"The module" was a digital radio program of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation and started broadcasting at the beginning of 2003. The motto of the program was “Just the music” and was initially divided into mostly two-hour unmoderated “modules” with the names chillout , hit , hiphop , dance and alternative , in which music of the respective genre was played continuously. There was also since 1 September 2004, Monday to Friday from 20 pm, the half-hour program German lesson , included the only German-language music, and following at 20:30 a repeat of Zündfunks .

Since October 8, 2007, "Das Modul" has broadcast the music of the bands that have performed at the station's own "Bavarian Open Festival" 24 hours a day under the title "Bavarian Open Radio". Live versions and album tracks by the bands, works by newcomers and shooting stars from the region as well as international indie, hip-hop and electro greats were broadcast. There was three hours of live programming every day from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On May 5, 2008, the company was renamed on3radio .

On March 30, 2009, the new umbrella brand on3 was launched for all of the tri-media-supported youth programs offered by Bavarian Radio. In addition to on3-radio , this also affects on3-südwild from Bavarian television and the new ARD-alpha broadcast for young artists, on3-startrampe .

On April 18, 2013 it was announced and officially confirmed on May 8, that on3-radio will be replaced on May 15, 2013 by a new radio station called PULS . The name PULS also functions as a replacement for the previous umbrella brand on3 . On April 28, 2013 the BR activated the internet addresses puls.fm and deinpuls.de and on May 15, 2013, 00:00, on3-radio became PULS , the new youth program of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation.
