Bayern 2 plus - also written Bayern 2+ - was an all-day DAB program from Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) and a digital additional program from Bayern 2 , in which some programs could be heard with a time delay. As of April 1, 2005, the channel replaced Bayern 2 in DAB digital radio. The program received a higher data rate resulting in improved sound quality. This was possible because another BR-DAB program, Bayern mobil , waived the transmission of additional visual information on the traffic situation, which was made obsolete by the exclusive digital radio program BR Verkehr .

On January 28, 2015 at 2:30 p.m., the BR switched all digital programs from DAB standard to DAB + . Thus the broadcasting of Bayern 2 plus was stopped. The free program space was occupied by the new radio broadcaster BR Heimat , which started operations on February 2, 2015.

program

Bayern 2 plus was usually identical to the Bayern 2 program. On special occasions, Bayern 2 plus broadcast its own program. In 2009 and 2010, for example, the joint summer cultural program of ARD radio, the ARD radio festival , was broadcast from mid-July to mid-September .

reception

The channel could be received in the former DAB network of Bayerischer Rundfunk in Band III. The transmitters were operated in a single frequency network on channel 11D.
