List of radio stations

Radio Plassenburg is a local radio for the district of Kulmbach and the surrounding area, based in Kulmbach . The editorial office and the broadcast studio are located at EC-Baumann-Straße 5.

history

Radio Plassenburg started broadcasting on September 30, 1988. Since then, the program has been expanded. It is aimed at the target group of 29 to 59 year olds.

In 2009, Radio Plassenburg was number 1 for the 17th time in Radio Analysis Bavaria and, with a daily range of 25.4 percent, it was one of the most popular local broadcasters in Bavaria. In 2010, Radio Plassenburg was able to maintain its top position among local programs at single-frequency locations with 22.1 percent. In 2012 and 2013, Radio Plassenburg was able to expand its daily reach to 26.0 percent and 26.2 percent respectively.

Since October 7, 2013, Radio Plassenburg has given its second terrestrial frequency 98.9 MHz to the youth radio Radio Galaxy . Since then there has also been a radio program in Kulmbach for the target group of 14 to 29 year olds. As a result, the gap in coverage for Radio Galaxy in Upper Franconia has now been finally closed.

The editorial team and the broadcasting studio of Radio Plassenburg were completely rebuilt as part of a building renovation in 2015. It was therefore broadcast for almost 17 months from a provisional studio in the south of Kulmbach. Since November 1, 2015, broadcasting has taken place again from the headquarters on E.-C.-Baumann-Straße. The renovation was also used for the complete new installation of digital broadcast technology.
