The Pritzwalk transmitter is a basic network transmitter operated by Deutsche Funkturm GmbH for broadcasting radio signals. It was built to supply northwest Brandenburg in the village of Buchholz in the Prignitz , four kilometers south of Pritzwalk . A 163 meter high steel lattice tower is used as the antenna carrier. The transmitter went into operation on August 7, 1996 with VHF and analog TV.
The transmitter primarily supplies the north-western parts of Brandenburg and large parts of the states of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt and northeast Lower Saxony.

Digital radio ( DAB )
DAB + is broadcast in vertical polarization and in single-frequency mode with other transmitters. The nationwide DAB + multiplex has been broadcasting since June 30, 2016 and the rbb has been broadcasting its programs via DAB + since November 21, 2017 from the Pritzwalk station.
