The transmitter Langenbrand is a 143 meter high radio and directional radio tower of Deutsche Telekom AG in the Schömberger district Langenbrand in the district of Calw , about 500 meters northeast of the highest point of the Langenbrander Höhe at an altitude of 707  m above sea level. NHN . It was built in 1964 and has three platforms 42 meters, 51 meters and 81 meters high. The steel framework is 126.8 meters high, followed by a 16-meter-high cylinder made of glass fiber reinforced plastic ( GRP ), which contains the television antenna. The facility is not open to the public.

The transmitter supplies large parts of the northern Black Forest with television and FM radio programs . The first television station went into operation for ZDF on September 5, 1964 , followed in 1966 by SDR as a subtenant with a station for the first television program . In 1969 the third television program went on air. Since 1974 the SDR (today SWR ) has also been using the location for radio broadcasting. Digital television ( DVB-T ) has been broadcast from here since November 5, 2008 , for which the antenna tip (GRP cylinder) has been replaced.
