Veitsau is a district of the municipality of Berndorf , Lower Austria. The former village and today's district has grown together with Berndorf in the north.

In the Franziszeischen cadastre from 1820 the former village structures are still clearly recognizable.

With a state law of April 26, 1923, Veitsau was united with Berndorf and the cadastral community Berndorf IV was split off from Veitsau. Before that, the cadastral community of Veitsau was assigned to the local community of Grillenberg , from which the densely populated parts of Veitsau and Steinhof were separated and added to the community of "Groß-Berndorf" . The uninhabited parts of the Veitsau cadastral community remained, as did the Steinhof Rotte near Grillenberg, which was assigned to Hernstein .
