Sat.1 Gold (spelling: SAT.1 Gold ) is a German free TV channel aimed at women between the ages of 40 and 65. He is one of six channels of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE .

history

On November 20, 2012, the broadcaster received a broadcasting license from the Commission for Approval and Supervision of Media Authorities (ZAK). Katja Hofem and Marc Rasmus set up the new station, but before the start of Sat.1 Gold, Hofem switched to kabel eins . Rasmus took over the management. The Thuringian State Media Authority (TLM), based in Erfurt, is responsible for overseeing the special-interest channel . The station started on January 17, 2013 at 8:13 pm with a two-minute countdown, accompanied by a trailer and a puppet show. The television film Die Wanderhure was then shown.

Manager

Marc Rasmus was the managing director until February 29, 2016 . Michaela Kiermaier took over the management on March 1, 2016 . Since May 1, 2017, the station has been headed by Sat.1 station boss Kaspar Pflüger .

program

The Sat.1 Gold program originally consisted exclusively of German productions, most of which came from the ProSiebenSat.1 archive. An offshoot of the program Files - Reporters Fight for You with Ulrich Meyer and the several-hour format Süddeutsche TV Thema are broadcast as in-house productions. There is also a daily lunch magazine with Gaby Papenburg in the program. The evening program of Sat.1 Gold is divided into various subject areas, which are divided into documentaries , fiction films , crime novels and series .

For satellite reception , Sat.1 Gold takes over the Sixx slot on the ProSiebenSat.1 main transponder (12,545 MHz, H, 22,000 kS), which 9Live originally used before it was discontinued. Sixx is only distributed via the transponder from SES Platform Services (12.460 MHz, H, 27.500 kS).

Sat.1 Gold started digitally on January 17, 2013 in the modernized cable networks of Unitymedia and can be received via IPTV on Telekom Entertain and VodafoneTV . Since May 2013, Sat.1 Gold has also been fed into Kabel Deutschland. There is currently (2013) an analog feed only in the Cologne cable network of NetCologne .

On August 1, 2013, Sat.1 Gold started on DVB-T in southern Bavaria. There the station took over the DVB-T bouquet at the broadcasting locations in Munich and Wendelstein from the RTL group.

SAT.1 Gold HD

In November 2014, ProSiebenSat.1 announced that it would launch an HD offshoot of Sat.1 Gold in 2015 via the HD + platform . The new HD program went on air on December 31, 2014. Since August 3, 2015, Sat.1 Gold HD can also be received via IPTV at Telekom Entertain, and since October 23, 2017 also in HD at Magine TV with the Comfort HD or Deluxe HD packages.

Austria

Sat.1 Gold Austria has been broadcast via digital satellite since mid-June 2014 . Since July 15, 2014, the station has also been available in the digital UPC cable network (channel 133). Since that day, an Austrian advertising window has also been broadcast. Otherwise, the station's program does not differ from the German one so far.

In the cable network A1 TV , the German version of the station was available before the start of the Austrian branch. Although the station is broadcast in conventional SDTV, it cannot be received with all standard devices due to the DVB-S2 broadcast mode via satellite. The received data are:
