The Wattkopf transmitter is a broadcasting system of the Südwestrundfunk (formerly the Süddeutscher Rundfunk ), which originally served exclusively for the distribution of analog radio signals. Since 2011, the transmitter also serves the mobile , the mobile radio of the Karlsruhe Transport and the digital public safety radio communications . In addition, digital radio based on the DAB + standard has also been broadcast since November 2014 .
The transmitter went into operation in 1996 and uses a 76 meter high reinforced concrete tower as the antenna carrier.
