history

Medienhaus Hof

Radio Euroherz successfully applied for the only advertised VHF frequency in Hof (at that time 98.1 MHz with 0.1 kW transmission power), but had to share the transmission slot with extra radio . In 1988 transmitters were put into operation in Selb , Marktredwitz and Ahornberg (Konradsreuth) . After German reunification , the frequencies in Upper Franconia were rearranged, which went hand in hand with an increase in the transmission power in Hof (5 kW). Two small transmitters supply the areas around Naila and Marktredwitz, the Selb location was omitted. The technical range in the transmission area increased to 270,000 inhabitants.

In 1992 and 1994, the Bavarian State Center for New Media in charge of the supervision tried several times to end the frequency division and to combine Radio Euroherz with Extra-Radio or to let the license of Extra-Radio expire. Extra-Radio successfully defended itself against this every time. (See Extra-Radio, section Attempts to switch off .) Due to the 11th broadcasting judgment of 1998, the frequency division remained.

The Federal Administrative Court ruled on May 31, 2017 that a redistribution of the VHF frequencies is lawful, which means that since December 1, 2017, Radio Euroherz has been broadcasting around the clock on the traditional VHF frequencies.

program

The program offers a mixture of information, entertainment, advice and service. An accompanying radio with current hits and songs from the 80s and 90s will be designed musically . In addition, Radio Euroherz is the official radio partner of the ice hockey club VER Selb and broadcasts the home and away games in the Oberliga Süd as well as cup games live.

There are various campaigns and competitions to attract listeners.
