Radio Mainwelle is a local radio for the district of Bayreuth and the surrounding area, based in Bayreuth , Funkhauspassage, formerly Richard-Wagner-Straße . One of the moderators is Christian Höreth .
history
Radio Mainwelle started on September 19, 1987 at 11 o'clock with the words "Here is Radio Mainwelle - Bayreuth goes up in the air ..." its broadcasting over the frequency 93.3 with 100 watts transmission power. Since then, the program has been expanded more and more and is aimed at the target group of over 25s.
Next to the broadcasting studio of Radio Mainwelle is that of Radio Galaxy . Since the establishment of the youth radio, the broadcaster has called itself "Funkhaus Bayreuth". From the overall program of Radio Galaxy, only the PM program and the local news are broadcast every half hour from Bayreuth. From 2010 the afternoon program was also merged with that of Radio Galaxy Hof. This resulted in savings for both broadcasters and for Bayreuth also the expansion of the moderated afternoon program by two hours. The Hof editorial team has been part of the Radio Galaxy Oberfranken network since 2016. Thus, Radio Galaxy Bayreuth is broadcasting an independent local program again.
The rest of the program is taken over by Radio Galaxy Bayern, based in Regensburg , which does not have its own regional program due to other established stations.
Radio Mainwelle and Radio Galaxy have moved to the Hofgartenpassage, which has now been renamed Funkhauspassage.
