history
Hohenmirsberg is probably one of the oldest parts of the municipality in Pottenstein. The old place name "Munrichesberg" probably comes from the personal name "Munrich". The place on an old escort road is mentioned for the first time in 1124 in connection with the person of an Eberhard. At that time, Bishop Otto I probably acquired the place for the diocese of Bamberg . During the Second Margrave War , Hohenmirsberg was plundered and burned on September 24, 1553. The parish church of St. Martin is built in 1720–22. The tower dates back to the time the parish was established in 1472.
Incorporations
Until the municipal reform , Hohenmirsberg was an independent municipality with the districts Pullendorf and Steifling in what was then the district of Pegnitz . This was dissolved in 1972. On January 1, 1978, it was incorporated into Pottenstein.
