Roland Mönig

Roland Mönig (born August 10, 1965 in Bochum ) is a German art historian and director of the Von der Heydt Museum in Wuppertal .

Life

Mönig studied art history and German at the Ruhr University Bochum and received his doctorate in 1994 on Franz Marc and Georg Trakl .

From 1997 Mönig was curator and deputy director of the Museum Kurhaus Kleve , in 2011/12 he was also interim head there after the retirement of Guido de Werd . From December 1, 2013 to March 31, 2003, Mönig headed the Saarland Museum in Saarbrücken and was chairman of the Saarland Cultural Heritage Foundation . Mönig has been head of the Von-der-Heydt-Museum in Wuppertal since April 1, 2020.
