Rackersberg is a district of the town of Pottenstein in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth in northern Bavaria .

The village is located in Franconian Switzerland , on the open ground just under 3 km northwest of Pottenstein. A connecting road leads to the neighboring Tüchersfeld and to district road BT 26 .
history
Rackersberg was first mentioned in 1119 as an item of equipment for the Michelfeld Monastery . The place name means mountain of Hreitger , which indicates a founder or previous owner. In 1829 the place had 94 inhabitants.
The district of the former municipality of Tüchersfeld was incorporated into Pottenstein together with its main town in 1972 as part of the municipal reform.
Attractions
The chapel, which was built by the local residents on their own initiative in 1894 or 1895 on community land, and the Kühloch, a cave about 1 km to the northwest, are worth seeing. ▼
