Haselbrunn is a district of the town of Pottenstein in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth in northern Bavaria .

Geography and transport links

The hamlet is located about 1.8 km northeast of Pottenstein on the state road St 2163 from Pottenstein to Haßlach . The Haselbrunnbach, a right tributary of the Püttlach, rises at the northeast end of the village .

history

The place name means well near the hazel trees. At the beginning of the 13th century, the village fell to the Schlüsselberger Eberhard I as a pledge from Bamberg . During the Second Margrave War , the village was completely burned down in 1553 by the troops of Albrecht Alkibiades .

The district of the former municipality of Haßlach was incorporated into Pottenstein along with its main town on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform.
