The Püttlach in the Upper Püttlachtal near Pottenstein

The Püttlach rises in Franconian Switzerland, south of Bärnreuth at an altitude of about 545  m above sea level. NN , near the Rotmainquelle and the origin of the Fichtenohe , a source brook of the Pegnitz within the district Lindenhardter Forst-Nordwest. It initially flows northwest to the Püttlach pond . There it turns sharply to the south and flows through a wooded section. At Muthmannsreuth it is fed from the left by the Heringsbach and at Heringslohe it flows from the right to the Heroldsgraben. To the west of Trockau is the Herrenmühle and nearby a sewage treatment plant . A little south of the Heddelmühle, the Kohlbrunnbach flows from the right. Near the Hasenloch it is fed from the right by the Pullendorfer Bächlein. It flows through the Püttlach district of the city of Pottenstein . To the south your path leads through fields and meadows to an area with many small ponds. There it is reinforced from the left by the Grießbach. It continues to flow south in a deep valley to the Hollenberg Forest. Blocked by a mountain range, it turns 90 degrees to the west. It breaks through the ridge and flows through the upper Püttlachtal, past the Adamsfels cave , to Pottenstein . In the village, the Weihersbach flows into the Püttlach on the left. There is another mill nearby and the hammer mill on the western outskirts. The Püttlach flows west through a narrow gorge and flows into the Wiesent at Behringersmühle , where the Ailsbach (Aßbach) flows in from the right side (mouth height about 324  m above sea  level ).
