geography
Geographical location
The village is located in Franconian Switzerland , about one kilometer north of the center of Gößweinstein. At Behringersmühle the Ailsbach flows into the Püttlach , which flows into the Wiesent nearby .
history
In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , the municipality of Behringersmühle was dissolved on January 1, 1972 and incorporated into the Gößweinstein market.
traffic
Behringersmühle was connected to the German railway network in 1930 when the line from Forchheim to Ebermannstadt was extended to there. Initially planned extensions to Pottenstein and Pegnitz were discarded as a result of the global economic crisis . After Deutsche Bahn stopped operating passenger services from Ebermannstadt to Behringersmühle in 1976, the Fränkische Schweiz steam railway took over and the route is now used as a museum.
The Franconian Marienweg runs through the village .
