Hühnerloh is a district of the Gößweinstein market in the Forchheim district in Franconian Switzerland ( Bavaria ). The place has about 109 inhabitants. As a state-recognized health resort, it is a popular destination for tourists and day trippers. Hühnerloh lies between the two places Gößweinstein and Pottenstein . Because the place is in the middle of the Franconian Switzerland, the topography is hilly to mountainous. The Franconian Marienweg runs through Hühnerloh .

Infrastructure

Two inns and several holiday apartments offer accommodation for tourists. There is an attached campground on the edge of the village. Several supermarkets and discounters in the nearby Gößweinstein and Pottenstein offer shopping opportunities. In the past, the place was mainly characterized by farms. Today the majority of the residents work in the surrounding areas.

Transport links

The place is accessed by a side street of the state road 2685, which connects the places Gößweinstein and Pottenstein. The next federal road, the B 470 , leads through the Gößweinstein district of Behringersmühle. The next federal motorways are the A 73 towards Bamberg and Erlangen and the A 9 towards Bayreuth and Nuremberg.

The next regularly served train stations are Ebermannstadt , from where there are hourly connections to Forchheim and the Pegnitz train station with hourly connections to Bayreuth and Nuremberg. The nearest stations of the Nuremberg S-Bahn are in Forchheim and Kersbach .

The bus stop in the town center is only approached a few times a day by school buses. Another bus stop for regular connections to Gößweinstein and Pottenstein is located on State Road 2685. Hühnerloh and the Gößweinstein market belong to the Verkehrsverbund Großraum Nürnberg GmbH (VGN) .
