Kleingesee is a district of the Gößweinstein market in the Forchheim district in Franconian Switzerland ( Bavaria ). With about 550 inhabitants, Kleingesee is the second largest town in the municipality after Gößweinstein.

history

On January 1, 1953, the community of Kleingesee ceded parts of the area to form what was then the community of Bärnfels . On January 1, 1972, Kleingesee lost its independence and was incorporated into the Gößweinstein market.

Regular events

  • Carnival time : Rose Monday ball, club ball, children's carnival ball.
  • May / June: Kerwa (parish fair)
  • June: Solstice celebration (Midsummer bonfire)
  • August: Fountain festival at the village fountain

These events are organized by the village youth and local associations, such as volunteer fire brigades and sports groups.

Worth seeing

The renovated Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the village fountain, which is decorated every year at Easter, and the Reipertshöhle between Kleingesee and Bärnfels are well worth seeing.
