Liebenau is a Franconian hamlet that belongs to Gößweinstein .

geography

The hamlet located in the Wiesentalb is one of 31 officially named parts of the municipality of the Upper Franconian market Gößweinstein. Liebenau is located about five kilometers south-southeast of the center of Gößweinstein at an altitude of 542  m above sea level. NHN . Today the hamlet has grown together with the neighboring village of Kleingesee to the west .

history

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Liebenau became part of the independent rural community of Kleingesee with the second municipal edict in 1818. In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Liebenau was incorporated into the Gößweinstein market together with the Kleingesee community at the beginning of 1972. In 1970 Liebenau had 56 inhabitants.

traffic

A communal connecting road from Kleingesee crosses the village and continues to Trägerweis . The place is not served directly by public transport , the next VGN bus stop is in Kleiingesee. The closest train station is in Pretzfeld and is on the Wiesent Valley Railway .
