history

Until the beginning of the 19th century, Leimersberg was under the sovereignty of the Bamberg Monastery . The dominant village and community rule in the Franconian region was exercised by its Leienfels Bailiwick. When the Bamberg Monastery was secularized as a result of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1802/03 and annexed by the Electorate Palatinate-Baiern in breach of the Imperial Constitution , Leimersberg also became part of the New Bavarian territories that were taken over during the Napoleonic land consolidation .

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Leimersberg became part of the independent rural community of Kleingesee with the second municipal edict in 1818 . In the course of the communal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Leimersberg was incorporated into Gößweinstein together with the entire community of Kleingesee at the beginning of 1972. In 1987 Leimersberg had 62 inhabitants.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is mainly made by the state road St 2191 , which, coming from the south-west of Geschwand , passes the south-east of the town and then continues in a north-easterly direction to Kleingesee. In addition, a community road connects the place with the district road FO 43 , which leads past Leimersberg a little north.
