history

Until the beginning of the 19th century, Hartenreuth was under the sovereignty of the Bamberg Monastery . The dominant village and community rule in the Franconian area was exercised by its Bailiwick Office Gößweinstein . When the Bamberg Monastery was secularized as a result of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1802/03 and annexed by the Electorate of Palatinate-Baiern in breach of the Imperial Constitution , Hartenreuth also became part of the New Bavarian territories that were occupied during the Napoleonic land consolidation .

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , with the second municipal edict in 1818 , Hartenreuth became part of the independent rural community of Leutzdorf , which also included the village of Etzdorf and the two hamlets of Sachsenmühle and Türkelstein . In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Hartenreuth was incorporated into Gößweinstein together with the entire municipality of Leutzdorf at the beginning of 1974. In 1987 Hartenreuth had 77 inhabitants.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is mainly established by the district road FO 37 , which, coming from the west -south- west of Wichsenstein , continues in an east-northeast direction to Türkelstein after passing through the village. In addition, the district road FO 23 connects the place with Bieberbach in the west-southwest. A community road also leads to the neighboring town of Leutzdorf to the north.
