Up to the beginning of the 19th century Sachsenmühle was under the sovereignty of the Bamberg Monastery and during this time it was in the Bailiwick district of the Gößweinstein Office , which in its function as Bailiwick was responsible for exercising village and community rule. When the Bamberg Monastery was secularized as a result of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1802/03 and annexed by the Electorate Palatinate-Baiern in breach of the Imperial Constitution , Sachsenmühle became part of the New Bavarian territories that were forcibly taken over during the Napoleonic land consolidation .

Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Sachsenmühle became part of the independent rural community of Leutzdorf with the second municipal edict in 1818 , which also included the villages of Etzdorf and Hartenreuth as well as the hamlet of Türkelstein . In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Sachsenmühle was incorporated into Gößweinstein together with the municipality of Leutzdorf at the beginning of 1974. In 2019 Sachsenmühle had one inhabitant.
