Bieberbach is a Franconian church village that belongs to Egloffstein .

geography

The church village in the southwest of the Wiesentalb is one of 16 officially named districts of the market Egloffstein in Upper Franconia . It is located about four kilometers northeast of Egloffstein at 514  m above sea level. NHN .

history

Until the beginning of the 19th century Bieberbach was under the rule of rich immediate nobleman, located in the the Frankish knights circle belonging Ritter Canton Gebürg had organized. When the imperial knighthood territories in Franconian Switzerland were mediated in 1805 , the village was annexed by the Electorate of Palatinate-Baiern in breach of the imperial constitution . With this, Bieberbach became part of the New Bavarian territories that were taken over during the Napoleonic land consolidation , which was not legalized until July 1806 with the Rhenish Federal Act .

As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century, Bieberbach became a rural community with the Second Community Edict in 1818, to which the hamlet of Rothenhof also belonged. In the course of the municipal reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the municipality of Bieberbach was incorporated into the Egloffstein market on May 1, 1978. In 1987 Bieberbach had 293 inhabitants.
