Localization of Bavaria in Germany

The Welden transmitter is a 158.5 m high transmission tower owned by Deutsche Telekom AG, around 15 km northwest of Augsburg in Bavaria . It is located on the Buchberg between the communities of Bonstetten and Heretsried at an altitude of 577.2  m above sea level. NN .

The reinforced concrete type tower (FMT 2/72) built in 1983 has an operating pulpit at a height of 75 m. In addition to directional radio and cellular radio , the location is used for VHF . AFN Munich was broadcast from here until 1998 .

Until DVB-T was switched off on April 25, 2018 and DVB-T2 HD was taken over from the Augsburg hotel tower , digital television was on channels K36 (ARD Digital (BR), 100 kW), K25 (ARD regional (BR) Südbayern , 100 kW) and K44 (ZDFmobil, 50 kW).

Until the switch to DVB-T on November 27, 2007, analog television was broadcast on channels K23 ( ZDF , 390 kW) and K44 ( BR , 430 kW).

Until October 2009 DAB was broadcast in the LH band with 2.3 kW. As a result of the network harmonization, the local ensemble Augsburg has been broadcast on Kanal 9C from the Augsburg hotel tower since June 3, 2020 .

Digital television ( DVB-T )

The station Welden was not converted from DVB-T to DVB-T2 HD . Instead, the transmitter in the Augsburg hotel tower has been distributing DVB-T2 HD since April 25, 2018 . The broadcaster Welden stopped broadcasting television programs at the same time.
