program

R.SA Sachsen is a private radio program in the Free State of Saxony. The 24-hour full program primarily offers a selection of music for adults over the age of 30. In addition to various music programs, the station offers hourly regional news and sports coverage .

automation

Parts of the program are automated. Automation is used to send data during the night, usually from midnight. Traffic and weather services are usually omitted. The news and presentations are recorded beforehand and mostly come from the radio center in Kiel, which is part of the Regiocast broadcasting chain .

history

The station originally goes back to the radio station Radioropa Infowelle Sachsen , which was launched by TechniSat on April 1, 1995 and which became Radioropa oldie.fm in 1998 . Just one year later, TechniSat sold its shares in Radio PSR , which founded Landesfunk Sachsen GmbH. In the course of this, on April 1, 1999, the name Radioropa was dropped. The program, now known only as Oldie.fm , was now the third nationwide radio broadcaster in Saxony and was allocated the appropriate frequencies by the responsible state media authority.

Since 2003 the program has been broadcasting under the name R.SA. The station started with the new title: “Saxony's new music radio”, which was replaced shortly afterwards by the addition “Mit Böttcher & Fischer”.

On May 12, 2017, the broadcaster announced the end of the collaboration with Thomas Böttcher, whereby the addition “With Böttcher & Fischer” was deleted.

Audience share

In an average hour, 131,000 people listen to R.SA.

Licensees and regional partners

In Leipzig, R.SA shares the frequency 97.6 MHz with mephisto 97.6 , the local radio of the University of Leipzig. mephisto 97.6 broadcasts from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00.

Another regionalization takes place on the Ore Mountains frequency 107.7 MHz ( Fichtelberg ). Weekdays 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and weekends starting at 15:00 send here, the local program Radio Erzgebirge 107.7 from Oberwiesenthal . However, this must not be confused with the Radio Erzgebirge broadcasting on 107.2 MHz from Annaberg-Buchholz , which is part of the Saxony radio package .

Testing in the DAB + standard

The nationwide coverage is to be tested through digital terrestrial distribution. Up to 42 CU of the transmission capacity D_SN_DAB_00209 (block 9A) will be allocated for 18 months to test the Saxony-wide digital-terrestrial broadcast of the R.SA program. The DAB + -dissemination began on 15 February 2016 and continues to this day.
