history

105'5 Spreeradio first went on air in 1994 as Radio 50plus with the target group of over 50s. In 1995 the station was renamed Spreeradio 105.5 and then broadcast a typical hit format. The last (major) relaunch so far took place in 2004 . Since then, the station has been operating officially as 105'5 Spreeradio. The program is now aimed at the target group of 30 to 59 year olds. The music selection consists mainly of evergreens from the 1980s, although more recent pop titles are also played every now and then. Stephan Schmitter has been the managing director since 2004, and Yvonne Fricke has been the program director since 2016.

Jochen Trus is the morning presenter in the morning program of the same name, Jochen Trus am Morgen. At his side are co-moderator Nicole von Wagner and Sidekick “Online-Max”. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the former TV presenter Sabine Beck is at work on the station with her program Sabine Beck , and Thomas Koschwitz will present the afternoon (2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) . Jochen Trus am Morgen is the most popular broadcast on 105'5 Spreeradio. Well-known campaigns by the broadcaster include the Berlin Treasures - We'll give you the best in town and the 105'5 private concert.

Transmission area

The transmission area includes all of Berlin and parts of Brandenburg. The program is produced from the studios on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin-Charlottenburg . The location for broadcasting the VHF transmitter is the television tower on Alexanderplatz.

Awards

In 2010 Jochen Trus received the German Radio Prize for “Best Moderation”. In 2014, Berlin reporter Toni Schmitt and program director Yvonne Fricke were awarded the German Radio Prize in the “Best Report” category. The station also won the German Radio Prize in 2016. Presenter Carolin Kuhn was named “Best Newcomer”.
