Star FM , spelling "STAR FM", is a private radio broadcaster that is represented in the greater Berlin and Nuremberg areas . With the slogan “Star FM Maximum Rock!”, The station positions itself with classic and new titles in the rock music field .

history

Star FM was founded in 1997 by David Dornier and took over the Berlin frequency 87.9 MHz of the American Forces Network (AFN) - until April 2006, however, as a split frequency (until 7:00 p.m.) alternating with UniRadio . The station was later awarded the broadcast until 9:00 p.m., as a split frequency with the Voice of America (VOA). Since April 16, 2006, Star FM has been broadcasting a full 24-hour program in Berlin, which was also broadcast via DVB-T in Berlin until the end of 2009 . Since September 1, 2018, the station can be received via DAB + in Berlin and Brandenburg. The responsible media authority is the MABB .

In Schwabach , broadcasting began with its own program and marketing on October 15, 2002 on 107.8 MHz. In addition, the station has shared the Nuremberg split frequency 95.8 MHz (2:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) with the station Radio Z since January 1, 2007 . In September 2010 the station moved into a new studio in downtown Nuremberg. Since October 2012, the station can also be received via DAB + . The responsible media authority is the Bavarian State Center for New Media .
