94.3 rs2 is, according to the Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg , a private two-state radio broadcaster for Berlin and Brandenburg and offers a full program of pop music from the 1990s to the present day.
operator
94.3 rs2 is operated by Radio-Information Audio-Service Zwei GmbH, whose shareholders are 43% NWZ Funk- und Fernsehen GmbH & Co. KG, 43% REGIOCAST GmbH & Co. KG, 7% Reinhard Köser in trust for the NWZ and 7% Stefanie Pehlke.
history
In the course of the restructuring of the broadcasting landscape after German reunification , 94.3 rs2 emerged from the former second program of broadcasting in the American sector (RIAS). On June 1, 1992, RIAS 2 was privatized and the successor station took over the Berlin frequency 94.3 MHz at the time .
After the privatization, the station was initially managed by former NDR director Peter Schiwy , who also owned a 44% stake in the station.
The program is now produced less expensively than in West Berlin times, and the number of employees is accordingly significantly lower than at RIAS 2. The Berliner Zeitung writes in retrospect about the start of 94.3 rs2: “The station fell in the battle for quota above all through bribery of the listener and bizarre actions. Radio listeners were rewarded with 500 marks in cash who admitted on the street that they had switched to 94.3 rs2. "
At the end of the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, 94.3 rs2 frequencies switched on in the Oderland, in the Uckermark and in the south of Brandenburg.
94.3 rs2 is the official media partner of Hertha BSC .
program
The program of 94.3 rs2 consists of news, service messages, entertainment, contributions and primarily current music. Occasionally older hits from the past 30 years are also played. The station is divided into four areas on the frequencies for regional news, articles, event tips and service messages. Apart from the regionalization on the Brandenburg frequencies, the program focus of the station is clearly set on Berlin.
