Freenet TV connect is an HbbTV platform from Media Broadcast . It is distributed via DVB-T2 and DVB-S (Astra 19.2 ° East). The broadcasting takes place via DVB-T2 in a multiplex, which is used jointly with ZDF, in the respective DVB-T2 islands.
Freenet TV connect offers the user access to various media libraries and TV channels. The content includes, for example, the ARD media library and the zdfmediathek as well as other television channels such as Bloomberg TV. In addition, Freenet TV connect offers easy access to news and information portals, shopping channels, the games center itsmy.TV and Kymba, a video-on-demand portal especially for children. In addition to conventional television control, the TV offer can also be controlled via a mobile web app using a smartphone and tablet.
To receive Freenet TV connect you need access to the internet and a SmartTV device. For the HbbTV standard, the device must at least meet the requirements of version 1.5 (from 2011). Otherwise, the user only sees a test image that shows him which (lower) HbbTV version number his device is equipped with.
Freenet TV connect is the successor to the previous Multithek , which was broadcast via DVB-T and DVB-S . The multithek service is still available over the Internet for older devices.
