The Lintern large stone grave , also known as the large stones on the Goldesch or Kampgoren (battle garden), was built between 3500 and 2800 BC. A system of the Neolithic Funnel Beaker Culture (TBK) that was built near the community of Neuenkirchen, Lintern in the district of Osnabrück ( Lower Saxony ). It bears the Sprockhoff number 898.

location

The grave is located about one kilometer east of Lintern near the municipal boundary. 1.1 km to the northwest is the Ueffeln large stone grave , and there are also numerous burial mounds in the vicinity .

description

The relatively well-preserved complex has an east-west oriented burial chamber with a length of 6 m and a width of 1.6 m. In its original state, it had four wall stones on each of the long sides, two end stones and four cap stones. The four northern wall stones and the two end stones are still in situ . A total of three wall stones have been preserved on the south side, of which the eastern one is still in situ, the other two are only slightly shifted from their original locations. Only two of the capstones have survived. The eastern of the two (originally the second from the east) still rests in its original position. The second capstone fell inside the chamber. According to Ernst Sprockhoff's reconstruction, the complex is a passage grave that had an entrance in the middle of the southern long side.
