Rienznocht (dialect for Rienz night is) the fourth studio album of South Tyrolean folk band Titla and the first and only in the framework of the temporary project Titla & Goiapui do in cooperation with the Toblacher dialect poet Wolfgang Sebastian Baur (called Goiapui) was created. It was released by Edition Goiapui in 2010, two years after the last album was released .

Titlá had already worked with the Dobbiaco dialect poet Wolfgang Sebastian Baur, known as Goiapui , for the last album Laasn . As a result, they decided to continue working together in the temporary project Titlá & do Goiapui . They had the first idea in late June 2010, and work on the album took four months. Rienznocht only contains texts by the poet, mainly from his poetry volumes published in 2007 and 2009, some of which he reworked for the setting or, in one case, specially written.

The album was published in Berlin by Edition Goiapui , Baur's own publisher. Like the other Titlá albums and like Baur's volumes of poetry, the album was created with the support of the South Tyrolean provincial government .

Contents and special features

In contrast to the other albums of the band, Rienznocht mainly contains songs and only four instrumental pieces.

Songs

The eponymous poem and song Rienznocht was originally (in In olla Forrbm Liewe ) the title Bochnocht ("Bach Night") and was set to music by Herman Kühebacher. Also Herwischt ( "Autumn") comes from the same book of poems and was set to music by Kühebacher. Peter Paul Hoffmann set the Aahornliet (“Ahornlied”) and Peter Riffeser the song Schlouf inn mai Kint (“Sleep in my child”), also both from In olla Forrbm Liewe . Toni Taschler wrote the music for In olla Forrbm Liewe (“In all colors of love”), Gea mit mier in die Schtaudn (“Walk with me into the perennials”), Et lugg loddn (“Don't let loose”), Haamat (“ Heimat ") and Uune dii Rosmarii (" Without you Rosmarie ") from In olla Forrbm Liewe , as well as to Wenn do Wint waat (" When the wind blows ") and Wertagiwont (" weekday garb ") from Puschtra Mund Art . He also set the new poem Du pisch a frischo Schnea (“You are a fresh snow”), which is sung by Wolfgang Sebastian Baur alone.

Instrumental pieces

The piece Jodlair (composed of yodel and air ) comes from Peter Riffeser. The piece Feirtagiwont (“holiday garb ”) by Toni Taschler serves as an instrumental introduction to the a cappella song Wertagiwont . The existential polka also comes from Taschler . Peter Paul Hoffmann's contribution to the instrument is the longer piece Oftamo tut s aanfoch la reggn (“Sometimes it just rains”).

Markus Larcher wrote in the weekly magazine ff that melancholy is “naturally a rich stew when it comes to love” and it is therefore “only obvious that the five Titlá musicians make great use of it”. Although "the wistful round dance is sometimes mixed up by lively instrumental pieces", "the heaviness as the basic mood ... does not really want to give way" and love "rarely dares to float for the established images of men."

Barbara Raich described the CD on the Internet portal Südtirol Online as "melancholy and cheerful at the same time". "The typical Titlá instruments ... give the music a very special note."
