Group nine

Gruppe Neun is a non-profit art and culture association in Overath that was founded in 2013 by Christoph Felder . Members are visual artists , photographers , filmmakers , writers , actors and musicians . One focus of the artist group is the promotion of art and culture in the Bergisches Land . The association is also active nationwide and cooperates internationally (for example with the Russian pianist Elena Ostrovskaya).

Exhibitions

In 2017 the series of events "BergischKunst" was launched. "Art is an expression of cultural identity and social relevance" , the group formulated Nine her artistic approach and organizes exhibitions , such as the Town Hall Overath ( realities Winter Quartet, Autumn Quartet ), Remscheid , Solingen or Bergisch Gladbach ( Special Places to light back in Kreishaus ).

The artists organize music and film screenings ( you can't fly with a grand piano ), but also interdisciplinary art events in rather unusual places: in the cemetery ( Kürten ), a cable car ( Schloss Burg ), or in a department store ( Bergisch macht ). An art prize was awarded for the first time in 2019.
