The Gscheid is 843 m above sea level. A. high pass between the Kleine Ybbs and the Bodingbach , a tributary of the Ybbs .
location
The Gscheid lies at the transition from the valley of the Schwarzen Ois , which is called Kleine Ybbs from Ybbsitz , into the Bodingbach valley ; the Bodingbach flows into the Ybbs at Lunz am See . Both waters, Kleine Ybbs and Ybbs, flow together at Waidhofen an der Ybbs . Valley locations are Gut Fuchslehen (532 m) and Rotte Bodingbach. The top of the pass also represents the border between the districts of Amstetten and Scheibbs .
meaning
The Gscheid is the apex of the fourth stage of the Upper Austrian Mariazeller Weg , which starts on the Pöstlingberg in Linz . On the way is the Hamotalm , which is simply farmed from May to September.
Surroundings
On the way to the pass, eight kilometers from Ybbsitz upstream or five kilometers from the top of the pass, there is the small pilgrimage site of Maria Seesal .
