The reconstructed thermal bath

The Guðrúnarlaug is a historical, reconstructed bath in the west of Iceland .

The name is derived from Guðrún Ósvífursdóttir , the protagonist of the Laxdæla saga . It is in the same place that was described in the saga . This bath had to be built in the old style (see Snorralaug ) because it was buried in the 19th century. The Guðrúnarlaug was inaugurated on October 24, 2009. It is located around 10 km north of the town of Búðardalur on a side road of Vestfjarðavegurs S60 .
