Vesturland (German Westland ) is one of the eight regions of Iceland . It is in the west of the country. Its administrative seat is in Borgarnes in the municipality of Borgarbyggð . On December 1st, 2008, 15,720 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​9,522 km² (population density 1.65 inh / km²).
