The Borgarfjardarsysla is a district in the west of Iceland and belongs to Norðvesturkjördæmi .

It lies south of the Mýrasýsla and extends in the east to the Langjökull . In the southeast the Árnessýsla and in the south the Kjósarsýsla . The largest city in this district is Akranes .
