The Austur- Skaftafellssýsla is a district in the southeast of Iceland .

The district lies between Vatnajökull and the south coast, for example from Eystrahorn in the east and Skeiðarárjökull in the west. The district coincides with the municipality of Hornafjörður . The city of Höfn is the largest town and Vatnajökull and Skaftafell National Park are the most famous tourist attractions .
